Who needs to renew their FDA registration?

Owners, operators, or agents in charge of a domestic or foreign facility required to register the facility with FDA who are involved in:

Food manufacturing
Food packaging
Holding of human or animal food destined for the United States

FDA and FSMA Rules for the Food Industry

The FDA requires registration of food sites to track the source of contamination or a potential bioterrorism threat.

Since 2011, the FSMA law has strengthened these registration rules. Sites must now provide more information to the FDA and renew their registration every two years.
